Application tips
• Keep it concise - 2 pages for entry roles and 3 pages for senior roles
• Name your file so it’s easily recognisable i.e. name_surname_CV.doc
• Use headings so we can easily find what we are after
• Use spell check and read through thoroughly. Errors suggest a lack of attention to detail
• Use an easy to read font and size, such as Arial 12pt
• Use a cover letter to address the key criteria in the advertisement or position description

Opening Statement
Make a brief statement to identify the kind of job you’re looking for and what you can bring to the organisation.
Education
List your qualifications and training in chronological order:
• Academic Institution name, city, state
• Degree/diploma earned
• Graduation date or expected graduation date
• Academic results
• High School can be included along with your Tertiary Entrance Score
Professional Experience
As you build this section, consider the relevance of your prior work experience and how it pertains to the role that you are applying for.
• List your most recent experience first
• Provide reasons why you have changed roles so we can understand your career path
• If there are gaps in your work history we are interested to know why, e.g., travel, parental leave, etc
• For each job, include job title, company name, location and dates employed. A brief company
profile can be helpful if the company is not well known
• Highlight your responsibilities, the skills you developed, and the impact you made
